Tangents Vol. 2: Im just kidding. Do whatever u want

The man who bought a jet as a tax write-off, Grant Cardone.

I thought about writing this because I feel like, and I could be wrong, but there is a lot of judging that happens when people buy certain things. So here is a quick burst of my thoughts about that if it interests you. If not, sorry in advance.

Investing gurus, like Grant Cardone, will tell us not to waste $5 every morning on coffee or $500 on shoes because we would be better off investing it (or buying one of his amazing courses for just $1500 a year). Aside from them trying to act like that is the primary reason for their wealth, telling people you don’t know how to spend their money is foolish. Don’t get it confused though. I am not saying we should spend our money on these things. What I’m saying is that people reserve the right to spend money on things they deem valuable to them.

I am someone who likes shoes and one of the pairs I own are the Yeezy 350 v2s (that I got for a great deal thanks to @plugofriv). I am a fan of Kanye’s fashion and music ventures, plus I liked the colorway and design of the shoes. I think they are valuable and worth it because of my personal preference and desires. No one else has to agree with me, but as long as I like them, that’s enough.

Someone may spend $80-$85,000 on a car, and I think that is insane. I am not a huge car guy and just need a vehicle that gets me from point A to point B, and that also has great mileage. But that person shouldn’t care what I think if that car brings them happiness and it is something that they want.

The point is obvious. Everyone places value on different things and we shouldn’t judge each other for it. We shouldn’t feel ashamed of spending money on things that we like or want, as long as they are within our means and our basic needs (food, shelter, water, clothing, etc.) are met. If someone does not want to invest or get into crypto, they don’t have to. It is their decision, and we should respect that.

However, if we spend money on items/experiences not because we like them, but rather for external approval, it isn’t worth it. Nothing is. We will only feel temporary happiness from that. And also, even from the items that we do buy because we genuinely like them, they also only bring us temporary happiness. Long-lasting joy and peace roots from how genuinely and positively we live our lives.

So yea those were some of quick thoughts that I personally just felt about this topic. hope u enjoyed the read.
